What! Planet Gliese 581g may not exist?

our imagination about life on another planet back to life as an astronomer Steven Vogt of the United States announced the existence of planets, called Gliese 581g can have a life with the possibility of 100 percent. However, the euphoria that started out when a group of Swiss astronomers make a statement that the mysterious planet may not even exist. If you have not read my writing before, I recommend to read it first. This is the link: Is there life on the planet Gliese 581g?

Enough already euphoria Gliese 581g. A group of Swiss astronomers announced that they were unable to detect the presence of the planet Gliese 581g claimed to have been discovered by Steven Vogt. They make an announcement at the annual meeting of the International Astronomical Union in Turin, Italy.According to astronomer Francesco Pepe and his colleagues, it would take many years before the data collected from observations could determine the existence of such planets.
Pepe said to ScienceNow:

"We did not find evidence of a fifth planet as announced by Vogt. However, on the other hand, we also can not prove that there is no fifth planet. No one has any accurate observational data are needed to prove the existence of such exoplanets his childhood. "

Pepe was not wrong. Planets as small as it is hard to find. Then, why can Vogt announced its existence?
The astronomers usually find extrasolar planets by calculating its interaction with the star diorbitnya. Because each planet and the star has a gravitational force, these interactions can result in interference with the movement of the star. In other words, astronomers can know the existence of a planet without the need to see the planet itself.Analogues such as this, You're standing outside a house. Then you hear a male voice speaking in the house. Although you only hear one voice, you can conclude that no one else in the house that is being spoken to.

Steven Vogt look at the movement disorders star Gliese 581. This led him to conclude that there is one other planet (beyond the four that have been found) that has caused it. With the physics calculations, didapatlah characteristics of the planet, such as mass and size. Then, press conferences were held, and the world know Gliese 581g.Method used by Vogt's standard astronomical methods based on complex physics calculations. However, NASA admits the difficulty of finding these extrasolar planets.
On its Web site planetquest.jpl.nasa.gov, NASA says:

"For example, if there is a planet orbiting Proxima Centaury, the star closest to Earth, the planet's distance is 7000 times the distance of Earth to Pluto. Trying to watch just as we stand in Boston and tried to see a moth in the lamp in
San Diego. "

NASA uses the example closest star to Earth. By the way, the star Gliese 581 is the closest star to the 117th of the earth. So imagine the difficulty. There is always a possibility that Vogt made a mistake.Interestingly, when Swiss astronomers announced this, they actually have the authority because it is they who have found four other planets orbiting the star Gliese 581.Then, how to respond Vogt?

As I write this, Vogt has not issued any statement. However, his colleague, astronomer Paul Butler of the Carnegie Institution of Science who helped found the planet's said if he did not want to comment on the statement of the Swiss astronomers because he did not attend the annual meeting.Remarkably, Butler said that further observations are needed to corroborate the existence of the planet Gliese 581g. He said: "I hope within one or two years, this issue can be resolved."

What! One or two years away could confirm the existence of the planet? So, you mean, a discovery that is touted as the greatest astronomical discoveries of this century was only observational data that have not been able to prove its validity?
