Precognitive Dream - a dream come true phenomenonHave you ever dreamed of one day and your dreams come true the next day? Have you ever dreamed of a disaster and the disaster actually occurs in the following days? This phenomenon is called a precognitive dream, a dream turned into reality. This phenomenon is not going to be fully understood in terms of science. Therefore, when writing about this, most sources that I found was a new age or paranormal site. So, do not expect this paper to answer any questions you have about this phenomenon.I'll start from the definition.Precognitive Dream is a dream that gives a person information about what will happen in the future. In other words, this dream has properties predicted.

Precognitive Dream and Human

Most of these prophetic dreams are related to the disaster, war, murder, accidents, even racehorses that will come out as winners. However, sometimes only relate to the little things that happen in the future.Oh yes, if I talk about precognitive dream, I'm not talking about the special abilities possessed by the paranormal. I'm talking about the experience that most people on this earth, including you and me.
At the conference the Association for the Study of Dreams, Robert Waggoner, a psychologist and dream researcher, said that the precognitive dream neglect status, occupation, culture and religion. Therefore, anyone in this world, as long as he is human and alive would have experienced it. The only difference is the intensity of the experience.A study conducted by Baylor University found that 52 percent of people believe in precognitive dream. Even a survey to see a 66 per cent of respondents who experienced an accurate precognitive dream. In history, Abaham Lincoln never dreamed to see his body lying in a coffin, two weeks before his murder. Then an engineer from England named John Dunne never dreamed about the eruption of a volcano in France who later became a reality.

Category precognitive Dream

According to the researchers who are mostly psychologists, not all dreams come true can be referred to as precognitive. To qualify as a precognitive, it is a dream come true it's NOT meet the following four elements, namely:

Become apparent since the probabilityThe dreamers already know the event will occur.Self fulfilling prophecyInfluence TelepathyI will explain below:
Became apparent because of the probability.
For example, we read the news that 3 days will be held a massive demonstration. Last night, we dream about the demo and we see the occurrence of action throwing a stone-throwing between demonstrators with police.3 Days later, there were massive demonstrations and acts of the stone toss. Our dreams come true, but it can not be called precognitive because the probability of occurrence of anarchy action on the demo is very high.
The dreamers already know about the event.
This provision has the same example as above. We already know will happen before the demo. Therefore, when we dream it, we can not call it a precognitive.
Self fulfilling prophecy
Self-fulfilling prophecy (self-fulfilling prophecy) is a prediction that directly or indirectly caused it to be true. For example, there is a false prophecy proclaimed. But when he was declared as a true prophecy, then the declaration is likely to influence people to make it a reality. The simplest example is a rumor. For example, in the community circulated a rumor that the bank enigmus (for example) experienced liquidity problems and may be closed by the government. In reality enigmus banks did not experience any financial difficulties. Rumor is exhaled by competitors to slander the reputation of the bank. Then the customers whose numbers are becoming concerned with the rumors and immediately flocked to the bank to withdraw their money.
Guess what happens next?Bank enigmus a fine collapses due to withdrawal of funds on a large scale. Enigmus bank was liquidated (or at bailed out) by the government. And customers will say, "It turns out the rumors are true!"This is a self fulfilling prophecy. So, If you dream of an event and take part in making it a reality, then clearly it is not precognitive.

Effect of telepathy

Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis had studied the relationship between dreams and the subconscious mind. He once said "It is an indisputable fact that sleep is a very good condition for telepathy."Believe it or not, this statement is evident from many experiments. One of them is an experiment conducted by Italian psychiatrist named GC Ermacora, where he managed to give a message to someone who is asleep and dreaming. So, in other words, one's dreams can be influenced by telepathy. Of course, if the dream comes from the influence of experienced telepathy, then the dream could not be categorized as precognitive.

Pressure precognitive Dream and Psychology

"The dreamers who have precognitive dreams often say that they feel a different feeling when getting that dream than an ordinary dream." EW Kellogg said III.Ph.D.They will also be severely disrupted. Many also reported feeling very real even after they wake up and really believe that the dream will soon happen.Another Dreamer said that the memory of the dream usually stuck in their minds for years. For this reason, many precognitive dreamers who are depressed. They were terrified at the thought that an accident occurred because they were dreaming or thinking about it.But these fears are unfounded because the precognitive dream does NOT cause something to happen. Precognitive dream ONLY receive information about what will happen in the future.

Who used to experience it?

The test results of brain scans show that the manifestation of precognition derived from parts of the brain that controls emotions. In individuals who have a more restrained emotion, accuracy precognition also be higher.Recent studies have also shown that creative individuals show a higher accuracy of the test precognitive. Then, in an article titled "Time: Exploring the Unexplained", research shows that those who are actively and regularly follow the mental discipline such as yoga and meditation also has precognitive a high degree of accuracy. From the results of this study, we can conclude that the precognitive dreamers definitely not crazy or a freak, but the people who have emotional and creative control.Hearing this, maybe you'll be a little proud to be a dreamer precog.
Precognitive theories
Precognitive dream is a phenomenon that can not be completely explained by science. Even so, interest in this subject has been started since the time of Aristotle. In more modern times today, some theories to explain the science was born, or at least, give some idea about this phenomenon. It's between those theories that I find quite interesting.
Frequency Theory
Before the earthquake, the animals will run out. The scientists believe that Earth's plates shift has created a frequency that can be captured by the animal brain. Earth, under normal conditions has a frequency of about 7.83 hertz. A person (or animal) that is consistent with these frequencies can feel the change, because they ran out.Based on this argument, was born the theory of frequency. According to this theory, during the dream, the subconscious mind we begin to be free from the shackles of the conscious mind and begin to control parts of the brain that governs intuition and emotion. And the result is "in tune" with the other frequencies that cause the occurrence of precognitive dream. The problem with this theory is, whether the "future time" has its own frequency?Science can not answer this.
Law of Large Numbers
This theory was proposed by a skeptic named Robert Todd Carroll, author of "The Skeptic's Dictionary '. He said as follows:

"Say, chances are a million to one when an individual's dream of a plane crash and the next day a plane actually crashed. With the 6 billion human beings who have dreams about 250 different theme every night, then surely there will be about 1.5 million people a day who have dreams that seem to be predicted. "For Robert, precognitive dream is just a coincidence or a probability that arise due to statistical laws. This theory, along with another argument that says that the success of precognitive dream actually happen due to memory bias.

Memory Bias
That is, our memory will only remember a dream come true and do not forget the dream come true. When an event occurs, an automatic, just remember the dream the dreamer is accurate and he would say, "I've never dreamed of!" But when the dream does not become a reality, he will soon forget the dream. This theory may have a point. In one experiment, subjects were asked to write their dreams in a notebook. This is done to prevent selective memory works. After compared with real events, which recorded the dream seems to lose its accuracy. In conclusion, we dream a lot. Many are not accurate and some inaccurate. Everything is just a mere coincidence.Yes, I know, you are not satisfied with these theories. But it's science can not explain this phenomenon perfectly. What now? Now, after a bit of their brain with some complicated theory, we will enter into the most important question, namely: why me?

Why precognitive dream happen?

This is a question asked by many precognitive dreamers.Once again, the researchers did not have definitive answers. They just say, the dream may occur as part of the human survival mechanism. In a way, they are reminded of the impending danger. Many of the testimony describing the change itineraries suddenly that save someone from disaster - Remember the movie Final Destination. Then, you might say, "Yes, it's a dream that relates to ourselves. What about the dreams relating to other people? What if I'm dreaming about the accident that would be experienced by my friends?"I did not find an answer to this question from the scientists. But if you ask me, then I will answer:"God wants to use you to warn them. So, pick up the phone and call him!"
Precognitive Dream - Last Words
We are not a robot which consists of mechanical machines. We are human beings consisting of blood, flesh and spirit. Therefore, human beings also called spiritual.Who can take the human spirit, and examined under a microscope? As spiritual beings, is a natural thing if we had some spiritual experiences. If we can understand this and accept it as it is, then maybe we can become more calm and happy. In the case of precognitive dream, I prefer to think of it as the spiritual rather than science.Just food for thought:)

I've had a number of precognitive dreams and while I would agree that the most vivid one did have a special quality to it, even "normal" dreams have ended up matching with waking life events too. I have a theory that prophetic dreams are one's own memories as mine seem to not reveal anything I don't eventually encounter with regular senses and they match my own viewpoints.
